the Lige Island in the Lugu Lake




Located in the borderline between Sichuan and Yunnan Province, the Lugu Lake seems like a genuine pearl enchasing in the southwest part of China. It covers more than 50 square kilometers in the altitude of 2690 meters., which is the highest lake in Yunnan Province, also the deepest limnetic lake in China. It is made up of five islands, three bylands and sea-to-bank island with differ shapes and verdure as jade. The Lugu Lake is known as“ the Pearl on the tableland” and “the Oriental Daughter Country”.The Lige island is one of the “Third Penglai Island”,it is the habitat of many rare birds. After rain in Nanlang Autonomous County, the Lugu lake is famous around the world for its beautiful scenery and the maintenance of the unique matriarchal system reserved by the indigenous Mosuo people. Photos taken after the rain show us the picturesque scenery of the Lige island.
