Day by Day DAY 1

Destinations: Airport to Hotel Transfer (Harbin), St. Sofia Orthodox Church, The Central Street, The Northeast Tiger Park, Harbin Ice Lantern

Today's Activities: St. Sofia Orthodox Church: The St.Sofia Orthodox Church is the largest Orthodox Church in the Far East. It is a perfect example of Byzantine architecture with a height of 53m. . Under the bright sun, the church, together with the square around it, reminds the Chinese, bizarrely, of the Red Square in Moscow. Now it serves as an architectural art museum run by the provincial government.
The Central Street: Originally built in 1898, Center Street is the most prosperous street in Harbin. It is also an architecture art gallery including the most influential four architecture schools in western-style architectural history, such as Baroque, Eclecticism and so on. Central Street is 1.450 meters in length and 21.34 meters in width of which 10.8 meters is motor way.
The Northeast Tiger Park: The Northeast Tiger Park in Harbin protects more than five hundred endangered purebred Siberian tigers. It is the largest wild natural park for the northeast tiger in the world. You can take a special vehicle into the area where you can closely watch the tigers, what\'s more exciting, there is a series of animals you can choose to feed tigers. The scene is unique in the world.
Harbin Ice Lantern: Fanciful sculpture are made in the shapes of animals, plants, buildings etc. Some of the larger ones have included a crystalline ice bridge. At night the sculpture are illuminated from the inside with coloured lights, turn the place into a temporary fantast-land.

Today's Activities: Yabuli Ski Resort: Yabuli International Ski Resort is 194 km east of Harbin. Covering an area of 23 square km, Yabuli International Ski Resort is the largest ski area with best facility in China. Yabuli has a number of quality down hill and country trails, some of which are comparable with those in North America and Switzerland. In 1996, the resort hosted the 3rd Asian Winter Games successfully. The resort is not only famous as a ski resort in China but also renowned for its scenic beauty.

Ming Tombs in Beijing

Ming Tombs, the tomb of 13 emperors in Ming Dynasty, is located in the foothills of the Yanshan,
Changping District, which is in the northwest of Beijing, with a total area of 120 square kilometers.
During more than 230 years from 1409 till the last emperor of Ming, 13 magnificent emperors' tombs, 7 tombs of the concubines, and 1 big eunuch tomb have been built there. According to the study, 13 emperors, 23 empress, 2 princes, more than 30 pins, and a eunuch were buried there.
Located in the foothills of the northern part of Mt. Tianshou, Changping District of Beijing, it is about 50 kilometers away from Beijing. It will cost about 40 minutes to drive there along the Badaling Expressway northbound. The cemetery was built during 1409 and 1644 with a history of about 300 to 500 years till now. With the floor area of more than 40 square kilometers, it is the biggest tomb in China, even in the world. As the part of the old culture of the old Chinese Ethnic Peoples, together with the natural scenes in the area, Ming Tombs has formed a resort with beautiful scenes and profound cultural connotation.
Ming Tombs is the best preserved tomb in the buildings of China's ancient imperial mausoleum. Besides, their architecture is magnificent and the system is integrity, and also they have higher historical and heritage value.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, in order to protect this heritage, the government began to repair them from the early years after liberation and take the Ming Tomb as one of the national key cultural relics. In addition, in 1957, the Ming Tombs were announced as the first batch of key ancient building units to be protected by the Beijing Municipal Government. In 1961, they have been announced as the national key cultural relic's protection units. In 1982, the State Council promulgated the Badaling--Ming Tombs Scenic Area as one of the National 44 key scenic spots area to be protected. In 1991, they were identified as "China's tourist attractions 40 good" by the State Tourism Bureau. In 1992, they were announced as "the world's largest and best preserved imperial burial tombs".
